Job Description

As a Director of Corporate Accounting at PayPal, you will play a critical role in leading the accounting and reporting processes for Global Operating Expenses, Consolidated Balance Sheet Analytics, Statement of Cash Flow, and Consolidation. This is a high-visibility position that requires close partnerships with cross-functional teams such as FP&A, HR Operations, Legal, Source-to-Pay, Stock Administration/Payroll, and Treasury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own accounting and reporting processes of Global Operating Expenses, including Payroll, Stock-based Compensation, Executive Compensation, Health IBNR reserves, Legal/Tax FAS 5 reserve, Restructuring and capitalization of Internally Developed Software.
  • Deliver key components of financial reporting materials such as Consolidated Balance Sheet Analytics, Statement of Cash Flow, Equity Roll-forward.
  • Work closely with upstream business partners in Controllership, FP&A, Indirect Tax, and HR Ops to drive a frictionless period-end close and continuous process improvement.
  • Conduct quarterly meetings with the Senior Leadership Teams in Finance, HR, and Legal/Compliance to facilitate discussions on matters with potential material financial statement impact, and bring awareness to areas that require cross-functional leadership support.
  • Provide Stock-based Compensation expense forecast, and GAAP-only expense forecast to Corp FP&A.
  • Serve as the SME for Opex/general accounting and provide thought leadership to FP&A team by sharing best practices, co-hosting training, and offering accounting solutions in collaboration with the Accounting Policy Group for matters with greater complexity.
  • Lead a self-motivated, high-performing team in different time zones and focus on the team's career development.
  • Support Finance and cross-functional key initiatives/projects such as ERP system transformation (SAP S4 HANA), Segment Reporting implementation, and accrual process improvement/automation.
  • Collaborate timely with Record-to-Report (R2R) team, Accounting Policy Group, and Regional Controllership team to operationalize non-recurring accounting transactions and ensure the impact on local statutory reporting is assessed.
