Medical Oncology Job Description

Epic Care, a physician-led group, is seeking a skilled APP (NP or PA) to join our dynamic team in the medical oncology service line. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities
  • Provide hematology and medical oncology specialty patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Perform physical exams and patient observations.
  • Record patient medical histories and symptoms.
  • Create patient care plans and contribute to existing plans.
  • Order, administer, and analyze diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose health issues.
  • Detect changes in a patient's health and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Administer medicines and treatments.
  • Evaluate responses to treatments and medications.
  • Consult with healthcare professionals and participate in tumor boards.
  • Train patients and families on managing illnesses or injuries and disease prevention.
Qualifications
  • Oncology experience is preferred but not required.
  • Appropriate degree from an accredited program.
  • Active NP and PA licensure in the state of California.
  • Prescriptive authorization and active DEA license.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or other languages is preferred.
  • Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required by the work.
  • Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as electronic medical records.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with medical partners, patients, family members, physicians, and community representatives.
  • Sound understanding of federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
