Job Summary

The City of New York is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Environmental Compliance Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Bureau of Environmental Compliance, you will play a critical role in enforcing environmental laws and regulations, ensuring the health and safety of the public and environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Process idling, mold, muffler, boiler, air/noise summonses in CRM.
  • Prepare summons for certified mail and attach the DOS print out and complete and sign an affirmation for each summons.
  • Learn CATS system to respond to questions related to air registrations, work permits and certificates of operations for boilers, generators and industrial process sources.
  • Provide online filing assistance and answer permitting related questions at front desk/window.
  • Filing, sorting, scanning, photocopying, stapling, logging in daily mail.
  • Meet processing targets in the processing all summons.

Requirements
  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization.
  • One year of satisfactory clerical experience.
  • Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
