Diagnostic Imaging Radiographer

Mammography Technologist operates radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic x-ray films as directed by physicians. The Mammography Technologist obtains diagnostic imaging radiographs, utilizing appropriate radiation and general safety practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform radiographic and mammographic examinations within equipment limits and according to established protocols.
- Position patients and adjust equipment for taking x-rays following established procedures.
- Process and critique all films for diagnostic quality and correctness.
- Submit completed examinations for radiologist interpretation and official reporting.
- Perform Quality Assurance and Controls daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semiannually, and annually according to established QA program guidelines for all equipment.
- Interact with patients in a timely and positive manner.
- Authorize release of patients upon completion of radiologic examination.
- Ability to assist in all departmental administrative work.
- Ability to schedule mammograms using EHR system.
- Maintain x-ray log and initiate and file flash cards in x-ray jackets.
- Forward x-ray reports to appropriate provider and file report in patient's electronic chart.
- Obtain previous films and reports for comparison studies.
- Check films out to patients and other facilities according to Health Center guidelines.
- Maintain database on all x-ray patients for reporting purposes and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Order all supplies and film.
- Maintain all working environments including restocking rooms and keeping work areas clean at all times.
- Clean and make minor adjustments to radiologic equipment.
- Train students within Mountain Park Health Center guidelines.
- Promote positive patient/guest relations in accordance with Mountain Park Health Center policies.
Requirements:
- Completion of course in radiologic technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Registration in Radiography and Mammography are required. Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) certification is required.
- Experience with Mammography 2D required, 3D/Tomosynthesis experience preferred.
