Surgical Technologist III Cardiac Specialist

This is a challenging and rewarding role for a skilled Surgical Technologist III to join our team at Tufts Medical Center. As a key member of the perioperative care team, you will be responsible for providing expert support to surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient operating environment.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, adhering to strict aseptic technique and infection prevention practices.
- Participate in surgical counts, manage intraoperative medications, and follow hospital policies for specimen handling and decontamination.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination during procedures.
- Provide education and training to new staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Surgical Technologist certification (CST).
- Five (5) years of experience as a Surgical Technologist, scrubbing in all major services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Seven (7) years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- Ability to work in a semi-restricted and restricted environment, with frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals, blood, and bodily fluids.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift patients and heavy equipment, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Expert knowledge of aseptic technique and infection prevention practices.
- Advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
