We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist III Cardiac to join our team at Tufts Medical Center. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient operating environment.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, adhering to strict aseptic technique and infection prevention practices.
- Participate in surgical counts, ensuring accurate and timely completion of procedures.
- Manage intraoperative medications and surgical specimens, following hospital policy and physician orders.
- Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient room turnover.
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Surgical Technologist certification (CST).
- Five (5) years of experience as a Surgical Technologist, scrubbing in all major services.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Seven (7) years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- Advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Intermediate knowledge of computers, surgical equipment, and infrastructure.
- Ability to work in a semi-restricted and restricted environment, with prolonged exposure to hot surgical lights and hazardous chemicals.
- Ability to lift patients and heavy equipment, with frequent exposure to radiation, lasers, and extreme noise levels.
