Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Registration Representative to join our team at the Sleep Disorders Center. As a key member of our patient access team, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless and efficient registration process for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration and Scheduling: Greet and register patients, obtain and verify demographic and clinical information, and schedule appointments as needed.
  • Financial and Insurance Processing: Obtain and verify financial and insurance information, determine and assign company/plan codes, and complete assignment of payor priorities.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring a positive and respectful experience.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with various hospital departments and physicians' offices to direct patients through the Northwestern Medicine system.
  • Problem-Solving and Quality Improvement: Identify and minimize financial risk to the hospital, promote accuracy and timeliness of data processing, and maintain customer service objectives.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year experience in customer service or patient relations.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, problem-solving skills, and computer data-entry/typing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Degree or additional training in business, communication, or healthcare.
  • Experience: Experience in a healthcare setting, knowledge of patient registration/scheduling/billing systems, and experience with automated patient scheduling.
