Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Grants and Contracts Specialist to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. This role will be responsible for managing complex pre- and post-award issues, ensuring account balances are in good standing, and providing recommendations to faculty on timely fund allocation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with university departments and offices to manage complex pre- and post-award issues, including interfacing with representatives from the Office of Sponsored Projects, Human Resource Service Center, and Vice-President for Business Affairs.
  • Monitor account balances and address deficits by performing budget transfers or costing allocation updates as needed.
  • Prepare budget projections and distribute financial reports to Principal Investigators on a monthly basis.
  • Provide technical assistance to faculty on troubleshooting access issues with systems.
  • Oversee HR-related processes to support the full employment lifecycle of employees, contingent workers, and affiliated workers funded by sponsored awards.
  • Coordinate the approval of tuition reduction benefits for graduate students in Financial Resources Management Services (FRMS).
  • Participate in internal professional development to remain current with UT, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant experience in research administration are required.
