Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Inpatient Surgery Trauma ICU

We are seeking qualified APPs (Acute Care Certified Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants) to enhance our intensive care unit (ICU) night team.
The APP will be responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care for our Trauma ICU, Surgical ICU, and Burn ICU patients during night shifts, typically 3-4 nights per week, with limited weekend duties. Support from attending surgical physicians and resident physicians will be readily available.
In collaboration with an attending surgeon, the APP will engage in direct patient care, which includes the identification, management, and referral of various health issues. Responsibilities encompass pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care, as well as managing trauma surgery admissions to the ICU, overseeing nightly inpatient care, and occasionally assisting in the operating room.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing complex medical conditions and providing specialized care.
- Performing surgical bedside procedures such as incision and drainage, laceration repairs, ligation of bleeding vessels, arterial blood gas puncture, gastrostomy tube replacement, extubation, and central or arterial line placement/removal.
- Supporting the surgical team to ensure optimal care for surgical patients.
- Maintaining high standards of customer service throughout the healthcare system.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited program (PA / Acute Care APRN).
- Current licensure in the State of Ohio.
- Experience in inpatient care, trauma or general surgery, or ICU as an APRN or PA.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Proficiency in sterile techniques and aseptic practices.
- Understanding of medications, treatments, and procedures relevant to a surgical environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
- Capability to meet the qualifications for clinical privileges within the healthcare system promptly and maintain those privileges.
