Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team in the Trauma ICU, Surgical ICU, and Burn ICU at The MetroHealth System.

Job Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider will provide patient care for our Trauma ICU, Surgical ICU, and Burn ICU patients nightly at MetroHealth's Main Campus. In collaboration with an attending surgeon, the APP will deliver direct patient care, including identification, management, and referral of health problems. The APP will also be responsible for trauma surgery admissions to the ICU, nightly inpatient management, and occasional OR assistance.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage complex illnesses and deliver specialty care.
  • Complete surgical bedside procedures such as incision and drainage, laceration repairs, ligation of bleeding vessels, ABG puncture, gastrostomy tube replacement, extubation, central or arterial line placement/removal, and chest tube placement/removal.
  • Function in a supportive role to provide optimum care to surgical patients.
  • Uphold the standards of the system-wide customer service program.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited program (PA / Acute Care APRN)
  • Current licensure in the State of Ohio.
  • Inpatient experience, Trauma or General Surgery experience, or ICU experience as an APRN or a PA
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Proficiency in the use of sterile technique and aseptic practices
  • Knowledge of medications, treatments, and procedures utilized in a surgical environment.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges with The MetroHealth System within 90 days of placement within the position and maintain privileges.
