Job SummaryCEC Controls Company, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Automation Control Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, programming, and troubleshooting automation control systems for the water and manufacturing industries.Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop automation control systems from customer specifications
  • Program PLCs and HMI/SCADA systems to meet customer requirements
  • Specify electrical equipment and materials, including PLCs, automation control components, and instrumentation
  • Develop electrical and P&ID drawings to ensure accurate and efficient system design
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability
  • Design and debug Data Acquisition systems (SCADA) to optimize system performance
  • Power-up, debug, and calibrate control systems to ensure they meet customer requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration and implementation
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in PLC and HMI/SCADA programming
  • Proficient in programming PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens, GE, Modicon, Emerson Control Wave)
  • Proficient in programming HMI/SCADA systems (Factory Talk, Maple, VTSCADA, Wonderware)
  • Industrial electrical experience and troubleshooting skills, including 480VAC 3-phase, 120 VAC, 24VDC systems and VFDs
  • Experience with process control instrumentation, including flow meters, pressure transmitters, and level transmitters
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a logical and systematic approach
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and regulations (NEC, IEEE, NFPA, OSHA)
  • Ability to read, revise, and create new PLC logic, HMI/SCAD programs, and VFD parameters
  • Attention to detail to maintain accurate drawings, files, bill of materials, and equipment specifications
  • Ability to travel up to 25% and work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
  • Able to climb a 2-story ladder
  • Can walk a mile in 20 minutes
  • Be able to cover, on foot, a reasonable distance on a job site
  • Able to lift 30 lbs. without difficulty
