Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and implement human factors methodologies; tailor them for the design and assessment of our products.
  • Conduct field studies utilizing ethnographic techniques and cognitive task analysis to establish and validate system requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of use cases, user stories, and scenarios that inform product design processes.
  • Work in tandem with UX designers to create and assess effective human-machine interface designs and prototypes.
  • Promote human perceptual and cognitive considerations in relation to sense-making and decision-making tools.
  • Ensure adherence to customer human factors standards.
  • Present interface designs and prototypes to various audiences for feedback and refinement.
  • Conduct testing to validate software features and releases.
  • Develop test plans that gather quantitative and qualitative data in modeling and simulation contexts as well as live flight tests.
  • Recommend and draft requirements for human-machine interface instrumentation that enhances insights into user interactions.
  • Review and provide input on technical documentation and systems engineering documentation.
  • Perform literature reviews and create written summaries and briefings with recommendations for our products.
  • Travel to various locations to conduct project work.

Required Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in a relevant field (human factors engineering/psychology, cognitive systems engineering, integrated systems engineering, applied cognitive science, information science, or related discipline) with 4 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience.

Prior experience in a multidisciplinary environment.

Experience in developing and executing research or test plans involving human subjects.

Strong understanding of human factors and human performance concepts and theories.

A passion for addressing complex challenges while navigating constraints and trade-offs in a dynamic environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with MUM-T, human-robot interaction, or artificial intelligence applications.

Experience in human-machine interface design.


Compensation: $160,355 - $240,533 a year.
