We are currently seeking a Protection and Control Group Lead to oversee our TVA substation engineering team. This role is essential for ensuring the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions in the realm of high voltage transmission substations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers in the development of substation design projects.
  • Establish work assignments and assess performance to optimize resource utilization.
  • Ensure quality assurance across all projects and deliverables.
  • Engage in client meetings to discuss project scopes and site evaluations.
  • Prepare project estimates and assist in bid package development.
  • Monitor project timelines and execution to ensure compliance with performance standards.
  • Oversee technical reviews and coordinate the checking of project documents.
  • Maintain high standards of quality while managing the creation of essential deliverables such as One-Line Diagrams, AC & DC Schematics, and Wiring Diagrams.
  • Collaborate with other Group Leads to assess staffing needs and participate in the recruitment process.
  • Identify training requirements for team members and facilitate professional development opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to safe work practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in P&C substation design for voltages ranging from 69kV to 500kV is required.
  • Experience in switchyard protection and control design is advantageous.
Skills and Attributes
  • In-depth knowledge of high voltage transmission substation protection and control systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to P&C design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and relevant technical software.
