Position Summary


The Facilities Maintenance Lead is responsible for guiding and managing the operations of the Manufacturing Services team, ensuring adherence to all safety, regulatory, and operational standards.

This role is crucial for maintaining the long-term efficiency of the team: delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring product and service quality, complying with all regulatory mandates, achieving targeted financial outcomes including cost savings, and fostering a culture of high performance and inclusivity within the team.


Responsibilities include overseeing equipment upkeep, calibration, facility management, and production assistance, which encompasses manufacturing, quality control laboratories, and research and development workspaces.

This role involves modifications to equipment and facilities, installations, clean room mechanical operations, production support, blade sharpening, and the disposal of medical waste.

Ensure that all maintenance, calibration, and production support activities comply with established procedures and regulatory standards (FDA/ISO).
Assist in root cause failure analysis in collaboration with Reliability Engineers as necessary. Participate in weekly downtime discussions with the corporate reliability team to address equipment downtime on critical production machinery. Be a key contributor to all audits, including FDA, ISO, customer, and internal evaluations.
Prepare and present monthly equipment key performance indicators that contribute to the corporate Maintenance Excellence Program. Ensure that production is adequately supported with necessary consumable equipment materials. Reconcile internal medical waste logs with vendor disposal reports.
Address non-conformance issues, investigations, and corrective actions within the department (Production Support, Manufacturing Services & Facilities). Support corporate and site Maximo team initiatives and serve as a backup for corporate MEP and Perfect index reports. Act as a subject matter expert and site administrator for Maximo.
Provide after-hours support (on-call) to meet business needs.

Qualifications and Responsibilities


A Bachelor’s degree in Science with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or a Technical degree with at least 5 years of experience in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Maintenance Repair Operations (MRO), or Reliability Engineering.

Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with cGMP and Good Documentation Practices (minimum 2 years)
Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (2 years preferred)
Technical expertise in Engineering, Maintenance, Instrumentation Service, Calibration, and Metrology is a significant advantage
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks

  • Demonstrates strong planning and organizational skills
Proficient in reading P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, and one-line schematics
Comfortable utilizing advanced features of the Microsoft Office suite
