Job Title: Quality Line Auditor Reports To: Quality Manager Department: 3400 – Hourly Quality Control General Job Function: The Quality Line Auditor plays a crucial role in verifying that products adhere to established quality benchmarks prior to their distribution. Key Responsibilities: Conduct inspections of products on the production line to confirm compliance with required specifications and quality benchmarks. Execute quality process evaluations at the gauging station at designated intervals, adhering to documented instructions as per customer specifications. Detect and report any quality discrepancies or defects to production supervisors and management; halt production for quality concerns that necessitate immediate intervention. Collect samples for FARO inspection. Assess components at the gauging station for specified measurements and verify for bow, camber, twist, and flair. Monitor products on the line for physical imperfections such as scratches, burrs, and incorrect lengths. Liaise with machine operators when modifications are necessary. Communicate with relevant line personnel when items need to be set aside for Quality Review during various machine events: Production halts for adjustments Line feeder issues Adjustments to cutoff press Adjustments for camber or bow Coil replacements Evaluate parts held in Quality Review to determine their acceptability or the need for escalation to the Quality Manager. Serve as a backup for Packers during breaks or to cover for absences. Ensure packing materials are available at the packing station. Perform additional incidental and related tasks as assigned, including projects or assignments to support the plant operations. Working Conditions: The Quality Line Auditor position is safety-sensitive, involving direct interaction with machinery and equipment. Frequent exposure to a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment where ambient air temperature may exceed outside air temperature. Specific vision capabilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of bending at the waist and knees, walking, and standing for extended durations. Must be able to grasp, hold, lift, and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds as necessary. Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl under or over, and frequently climb (stairs). Must be available for overtime, including weekends, to fulfill the organization's requirements. Required Education, Experience & Skills: High School Diploma or equivalent educational background. Proficient in working with and communicating (both verbal and written) effectively across all organizational levels in English. Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations involving inches and pounds using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills, capable of thriving in a dynamic environment. Ability to apply common sense understanding to complete written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
