About the Job

GLE Talent is seeking a Family Enhancement Worker to support families in the Park Forest location. The successful candidate will connect families to essential community services and resources, reducing risk and improving family functioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct weekly assessments with families to identify service needs and develop action plans.
  • Facilitate referrals to community-based services, engaging with service providers and other relevant entities.
  • Maintain consistent communication with families to provide ongoing support and guidance.
  • Document all necessary consent forms and adhere to IDCFS confidentiality rules.
  • Provide transportation to families for essential appointments, such as medical visits and WIC.
  • Participate in regular consultation and supervision sessions with your supervisor to review progress and address family needs.
  • Assist families with budgeting and provide homemaker support, including help with cleaning and organizing.
  • Offer parent coaching and connect families with resources related to parenting skills and strategies.
  • Attend all required training sessions and maintain up-to-date knowledge in relevant areas.
  • Be available to assist families during crises outside regular business hours when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required. Some college coursework is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with or providing services to individuals, children, and families is essential.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work with culturally diverse populations are essential.
  • Familiarity with community resources available for individuals, children, and families, as well as knowledge of infant, child, and adolescent development, is preferred.
