Job Summary

The MCT Laboratory Technologist Trainee will be responsible for performing various laboratory tests and procedures in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in clinical laboratory science and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including specimen processing, testing, and result reporting.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control guidelines to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents and equipment, including calibration and maintenance of instrumentation.
  • Evaluate and interpret test results, recognizing and correcting errors and unusual results.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory activities, including quality control logs and maintenance records.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science, or a related field.
  • Previous clinical laboratory experience is not required, but certification as a medical technologist (MT) or clinical laboratory scientist (CLS) is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in computer software and laboratory information systems, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.
