At Amerijet, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cargo Handler to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe handling of cargo within our warehouse facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to cargo handlers to expedite the movement of freight from acceptance to completion.
  • Monitor productivity levels of each cargo handler individually and collectively.
  • Contribute to and enforce on-time cargo preparation for on-time flight departures.
  • Enforce safe handling of company equipment and movement of cargo within the facility and ramp.
  • Conduct cargo acceptance audits and report inaccuracies in cargo staging and preparation.
  • Monitor net quality inspections and enforce compliance.
  • Ensure accuracy in scanner processes and palletization to achieve flight maximization.
  • Maintain facility equipment and manage forklift equipment logs.
  • Review tie-down processes and quality control aspects.
  • Enforce accuracy in weighed processes and tagged procedures.
  • Manage company systems (ACMS, GENEVA) for daily operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with local government agencies and regulations.
  • Provide support to the Warehouse Supervisor and upper management.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Self-starter with ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Prior warehouse experience with forklift driving knowledge is mandatory.
  • Prior experience with cargo/freight handling is preferred.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Working Conditions:

The employee is regularly required to stand, frequently required to walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Required to work in confined spaces.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; move about the facility. Must be able to work well under pressure. Domestic/International travel is negligible, and overtime is required when necessary.
