Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Material Handler to join our Supply Chain team at Staples. As a Lead Material Handler, you will be responsible for mentoring and training new material handlers, filling in for supervisors as needed, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of material handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and train new material handlers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
  • Fulfill supervisor duties as needed, including overseeing the operation of material handling equipment and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to move product within the warehouse.
  • Stack empty pallets and maintain a safe and clean workspace.
  • Ensure safe work practices and adhere to Staples' safety culture.
Requirements
  • 12+ months related experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent permissible legally.
  • Ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift, including overtime as needed.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull equipment/merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time.
