Position Overview: Insight Global is currently seeking a Senior Marine Structural Engineer with expertise in design analysis specifically tailored to facilities within the port and marine sector. The role encompasses the following responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with construction protocols and gather data samples for quality assurance testing.
- Conduct comprehensive data collection and analysis, evaluating the viability of alternative design methodologies, site conditions, and relevant regulatory specifications.
- Engage in coordination, research, and problem-solving across various engineering projects, addressing unique or complex challenges that significantly impact major organizational initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with architects, designers, fellow engineers, and project managers as part of a multidisciplinary project delivery team.
- Guarantee that all structural engineering outputs adhere to relevant codes and standards.
- Oversee the review of all project documentation and deliverables in line with corporate quality assurance and quality control procedures.
- Execute construction administration tasks, including reviewing shop drawings, conducting site visits, and responding to requests for information.
- Compile materials for reports and permit applications, which includes gathering data, drafting text and/or progress documents, and creating graphic presentations.
- Conduct field inspections of construction activities related to structures such as port terminals, cruise terminals, and oil & gas platforms.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Master's degree in civil engineering, ocean engineering, or a related discipline, along with two years of experience in the offered position or a comparable role.
- A minimum of five years of experience utilizing AutoCAD, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint within a marine construction engineering context.
- Five years of experience in structural design and analysis for coastal and marine infrastructures, including proficiency in concrete, steel, and timber structures.
- Five years of experience conducting mooring analysis using software such as Opti moor, Orca flex, or similar commercial applications, as well as performing calculations for ship mooring and berthing forces, including wave force modeling for moored vessels.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.
- Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
