Nuclear Power Plant Systems Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with experience in nuclear power plant systems design to join our team at Sargent & Lundy. As a key member of our Nuclear Power Group, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for nuclear power plants, including preparation and review of modification packages, functional mechanical drawings, and engineering analyses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems for nuclear power plants, including modification packages, functional mechanical drawings, and engineering analyses.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
  • Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment and develop engineering cost estimates for client-requested work scopes.
  • Lead engineering project teams and visit client office and/or plant site locations to interface with clients and present engineering tasks and status.
Requirements:
  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of power plants.
  • PE license is beneficial, but not required.
