About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Sargent & Lundy. As a Mechanical Engineer in our Nuclear Power Group, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics to support our clients in the nuclear power industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare calculations, evaluations, and technical reports to support client recommendations and reviews
  • Conduct equipment sizing, optimization evaluation, and selection in response to project needs
  • Support project teams with other Mechanical Engineers in system engineering, including design, modification, and analysis of power plant mechanical systems
  • Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for meetings and field verification of designs
Requirements
  • BSME from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program
  • 3 or more years of experience in the nuclear power industry
  • Excellent technical report writing skills
  • Knowledge of the practical application of mechanical engineering and technology
  • Strong interest in numerical computations and problem solving
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
