About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our team at Sargent & Lundy. As a key member of our Instrumentation and Controls Engineering group, you will be responsible for designing and implementing process control systems for our nuclear power clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop process control systems for nuclear power plants, including digital systems, PLCs, DCSs, and touchscreen displays.
  • Develop functional requirement and procurement specifications for instrumentation and control components and systems.
  • Prepare documentation for design input, including cable block diagrams and schematics.
  • Interface with vendors and prepare equipment purchase specifications.
  • Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner to meet client requirements.
  • Develop P&IDs and System Design Descriptions.
  • Attend client meetings and perform site walkdowns to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Provide guidance as a mentor to less experienced nuclear instrumentation and controls design engineers.
  • Support station outage activities as required.
Requirements
  • BS or MS degree in engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in design engineering for process control systems.
  • Technically knowledgeable of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems to execute systems design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in design engineering for nuclear power plant control systems.
  • PE License.
