Job Description

At General Dynamics Information Technology, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of very complex applications.
  • Direct and participate in all phases of system development, with emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing, and acceptance phases.
  • Apply higher-level business or technical principles and methods to very difficult technical problems to arrive at automated engineering solutions.
  • Analyze customer requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level network architectures to develop customer-specific requirements and specifications.
  • Manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation.
  • Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
  • Communicate technical information to other technical team members and coworkers in other departments.
  • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to government systems.
  • Develop and maintain network architecture, network design documentation, and solutions for continuous improvement of ACIC systems architecture.
  • Develop and design an implementation plan that meets the customer's requirements.
  • Interact with the Government regarding network engineering technical considerations and for associated problems.
  • Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Network Engineering area of responsibility.
  • Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives effectively.
  • Analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues, and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience.
  • Required Skillset: Mitigate risks, controls costs and schedule variance, and effectively manages large-scale, integrated projects.
  • Review and/or approve system engineering documentation to ensure that processes and specifications meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, and complete.
  • Establish and follow a formal procedure for coordinating system integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces.
  • Capture all interface designs in a common interface control format, and store interface data in a commonly accessible repository.
  • Clearance Level: TS/SCI.
  • Required Certification(s): DoD M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract.
  • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent.
  • Computing Env: MCSA Server 2016 (You can start with the first exam completed and must obtain the full MCSA Server 2016 within 180 days from start date).
  • Desired Computing Environment certification: MCSA 2016/2019/Azure, Linux+, VCP-DCV, etc.
