The Head BJJ Coach at UFC Gym is tasked with ensuring an exceptional member experience. This leadership role is pivotal in delivering outstanding service, facilitating Private and Small Group Training, and driving revenue growth. The position requires availability on weekends, either Saturday, Sunday, or both.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program:
- Oversee and support the BJJ program at the facility.
- Coordinate UFC GYM BJJ programs for both Youth and Adults.
- Monitor BJJ classes and provide suggestions for continuous enhancement.
- Assist in promoting and selling BJJ private lessons and one-on-one sessions.
- Organize and market in-house events, tournaments, and seminars for UFC GYM BJJ.
- Ensure adherence to class curriculum and regulations, including proper attire for instructors and members.
- Facilitate and promote BJJ belt promotions, ensuring compliance with the promotion system.
- Issue stripes to qualifying students and recommend candidates for testing.
- Participate in monthly meetings and conference calls.
- Collaborate with fellow UFC GYM BJJ instructors to uphold the program's integrity.
- Maintain regular communication with the Regional BJJ Director.
- Foster a sense of community and belonging among members.
- Sales and Revenue Generation:
- Encourage and conduct Private and Small Group Training sessions with members.
- Ensure accurate management of client programs, tracking progress and workout plans. Arrive prepared and attentive for training sessions.
- Support all revenue-generating initiatives, including complimentary workouts, seminars, and workshops.
- Enhancing Member Experience:
- Focus on transforming lives through exceptional service, science, and sales.
- Act as a brand ambassador for UFC Gym and its Train Different philosophy.
- Embody the T.R.A.I.N principles (Timely, Ready, Aware, Inspiring, Noble).
- Conduct safe and effective private BJJ training sessions.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the mat area and training facilities at all times.
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of Private Training techniques, from assessment to program design.
- Familiarity with company policies, practices, and emergency procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to maintain a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive demeanor.
- Strong customer service orientation, responding professionally to inquiries from guests, members, and staff.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Experience with office equipment, including computers and basic software applications.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Ability to work effectively on weekends.
- Outgoing, self-motivated, and customer service-oriented.
- BJJ Brown or Black Belt Certification.
- Experience working with both Adults and Youth.
- Prior experience as a trainer or coach.
- Verification of BJJ lineage.
- Preferred grappling tournament record.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- 1-3 years of relevant teaching experience.
- Compensation is negotiable based on experience.
