This full-time internship provides a monthly stipend of $1500.


POSITION SUMMARY

The Veteran Intern for the Adopt-A-Family (AAF) program plays a crucial role in assisting Team Angel volunteers and military families during the December holiday period. The primary objective is to ensure that families in need receive the necessary support as outlined in the program's standard operating procedures (SOP).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and support Team Angel volunteers and families participating in the Adopt-A-Family initiative.
  • Conduct outreach efforts for recruiting volunteers and families.
  • Supervise volunteers assigned to the AAF program.
  • Ensure adequate oversight and assistance for all participants in the AAF Team.
  • Maintain and update the Soldiers' Angels database.
  • Assist families with registration processes as per the program SOP.
  • Review and validate family profiles and required documentation for AAF program participants.
  • Evaluate the financial needs of families and provide information on additional resources.
  • Facilitate the matching of Team Angel volunteers and businesses with approved families.
  • Confirm that support is provided to families as per program guidelines.
  • Establish reporting protocols for volunteers and businesses to ensure accurate and timely support documentation.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Family Support Team Program Manager.
  • Ensure effective communication with Team Angel volunteers, businesses, and families involved in the AAF Team.
  • Collaborate with the Family Support Teams Program Manager for in-kind donation documentation.
  • Follow up with Angels to ensure all families receive the promised support.
  • Manage Dropbox files for the AAF Team.
  • Oversee the Adopt-A-Family social media presence.
  • Respond to inquiries within 48 hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a veteran.
  • Associate's Degree in Human Services or a related field; or 3 years of relevant experience in program management; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in volunteer management or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Familiarity with Windows-based volunteer management software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with various communication platforms.
  • Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday during standard business hours.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required.
