Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Reliability Engineering Specialist to enhance our manufacturing processes at Blue Origin. This role is pivotal in driving significant improvements in our production workflow, focusing on efficiency, consistency, and output rates.

The selected candidate will take charge of resolving production discrepancies and will possess a deep understanding of how these discrepancies affect overall system performance.

Your role will involve working directly on the production floor, where you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality and dependability of our products. Your efforts will be directed towards minimizing risks and facilitating safe, repeatable space missions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing manufacturing processes, incorporating inspection protocols, and addressing recurring challenges.
- Investigate production issues to identify both immediate and underlying causes, effectively reducing risk.
- Manage the non-conformance approval process, ensuring comprehensive review and resolution with an emphasis on technical integrity.
- Develop and maintain tracking tools to monitor concerns, including hands-on testing, operational support, supplier interactions, and data analysis.
- Oversee and evaluate critical processes to guarantee optimal performance and efficiency.
- Authorize rework and repair actions that deviate from standard production procedures.
- Provide additional support and serve as a secondary reviewer for production engineering to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure alignment and seamless workflow.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline, along with practical experience in building and/or operating engineering products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, potentially including knowledge of reliability engineering and non-conformance management.
- Background in design and manufacturing engineering.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Proven capability to ask critical questions, tackle complex engineering challenges, and drive continuous enhancements.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving work environment.
- A passion for human spaceflight and astronaut safety, with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently on complex and exciting challenges.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
