We are seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to join our team at Fulton Bank in Hagerstown, MD. This is a commissioned career opportunity that offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for soliciting first mortgages through contacts with realtors, builders, and developers. They will work with customers and prospective customers to assist them in identifying and securing a mortgage loan that meets their individual financial circumstances and goals.
- Develop referral sources and maintain regular contact with realtors and builders to discuss lending options;
- Analyze applicants' financial information to determine whether they qualify for a particular loan;
- Interview applicants and provide required information to assess their financial situation and recommend suitable financial products;
- Engage in customer-specific persuasive sales activity to encourage potential customers to do business with us;
- Follow up with customers and complete paperwork related to the loans originated.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent;
- At least 1 year of recent residential mortgage lending experience, preferably in the local market;
- A proven ability to develop referral sources from contacts and relationships outside the organization;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a solid understanding of financial products and services.
