Job Summary:

Cynet Health is seeking a highly skilled Histotechnologist to join our team in Madison, WI. As a Histotechnologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis process by preparing tissue samples for examination under the microscope.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tissue Preparation: Prepare tissue samples for examination by performing grossing, dissecting, and embedding tissue in paraffin wax.
  • Microscopy and Staining: Conduct microtomy and complete various staining techniques on tissue glass slides.
  • Instrument Maintenance: Ensure basic instrument maintenance, monitor reagents, and manage supply inventory and quality control.
  • Workflow Coordination: Coordinate and prioritize workflow to ensure timely testing.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Interact daily with pathologists, residents, and both intradepartmental and interdepartmental staff.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Be willing to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age based on competency skills/experience, and adapt to shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate degree in laboratory or medical laboratory technology.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience, with one year of previous laboratory experience required. Prior traveler experience is highly preferred.
  • Certifications: Not Applicable.
