  • Proactively gather and incorporate feedback from various stakeholders to improve laboratory operations and patient care.
  • Supervise the financial aspects of the laboratory, including resource allocation, identifying variances, and implementing corrective measures to achieve operational and financial objectives. Prepare comprehensive Monthly Operating Review reports.
  • Ensure compliance with standards established by relevant accrediting organizations, including CAP, JCAHO, CLIA, FDA, and CMS. Formulate and enforce policies and procedures, ensuring they are reviewed annually.
  • Manage relationships with key vendors and oversee supply contracts in collaboration with Laboratory Services and Supply Chain departments.
  • Create and implement a communication strategy to keep laboratory personnel informed, fostering an environment of open dialogue and encouraging feedback on operational matters.
  • Delegate tasks and authority appropriately in accordance with regulatory standards. Monitor team activities, provide management support and coaching, and deliver on-the-job training as necessary to maintain operational efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry is required.
  • A Master's Degree is preferred.
  • National Certification as a Medical Technologist is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in laboratory management, ideally within complex laboratory environments.
  • Experience in a clinical laboratory setting within a hospital is preferred.
  • This position requires COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with local, state, and/or federal regulations (unless an approved medical or religious exemption is applicable).
