Independent Living Instructor

Pathway to Choices, Inc. is seeking a skilled Independent Living Instructor to join our team. As an Independent Living Instructor, you will work directly with individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes, providing instruction and support in areas such as social and communication skills, money management, meal planning, and self-care skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct services to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes
- Instruct individuals in social and communication skills, money management, meal planning, and self-care skills
- Work with consumers to meet ISP goals and personal goals
- Advocate for clients' rights and requests
- Promote self-advocacy, personal, domestic, medical, financial, social/recreational, communication, and behavior management skills
- Assist consumers with transportation and daily living tasks
- Report emergencies and life-threatening situations to supervisor
- Complete administrative paperwork and reports
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 months experience working in developmental disabilities or related field
- Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Word
- Ability to read and write in English
- ASL skills or willingness to learn
