Job Summary:

The Shop Foreman at Keffer Hyundai is a key role in the auto industry, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service and repair department. This individual contributor position requires a strong leader to manage a team of technicians and service advisors, ensuring efficient and quality service to customers.

This role involves supervising and managing a team, scheduling and assigning work, and monitoring productivity and efficiency. The Shop Foreman must maintain a safe and organized work environment, conduct performance evaluations, and provide feedback to team members. Additionally, they will train and mentor new technicians on company policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a technician in the auto industry, with prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to multitask and handle a high volume of work. Proficiency with computer systems and diagnostic equipment is also required.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage a team of technicians and service advisors
  • Schedule and assign work to technicians based on priority and skill level
  • Ensure all work orders are completed correctly and on time
  • Monitor productivity and efficiency of the service department
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members
  • Train and mentor new technicians on company policies and procedures
  • Communicate with customers to provide updates and address concerns
  • Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and new technologies
  • Assist with diagnosing and repairing vehicles when needed

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience as a technician in the auto industry
  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of work
  • Proficiency with computer systems and diagnostic equipment
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards and regulations
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time
