Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Outpatient Oncology Transplant Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with physicians, and contribute to the development of clinical pathways.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive patient care, including history and physical assessments, diagnostic testing, and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with attending physicians to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, and establish medical diagnoses based on findings.
- Design and implement treatment plans, including medication prescriptions, and document patient progress.
- Initiate protocols and clinical pathways to ensure timely intervention and optimal patient outcomes.
- Perform invasive procedures, as needed, and communicate with patients and families regarding treatment plans and disease processes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and develop strategies for improving patient outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of clinical pathways and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, and promote health literacy and patient engagement.
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field, with completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current registration and certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse, with a strong background in acute care and transplant services.
- Ability to promote professionalism through involvement in professional organizations, teaching, research, publishing, and/or certification in area of specialty.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to patients with infectious diseases. The successful candidate will be required to wear personal protective equipment, including gloves, goggles, and a mask, as needed.
