Anduril Industries is a pioneering defense technology firm dedicated to enhancing military capabilities for the U.S. and its allies through state-of-the-art innovations. By integrating the expertise and business models of the most forward-thinking companies of the 21st century into the defense sector, Anduril is revolutionizing the design, production, and distribution of military systems. Our suite of systems operates on Lattice OS, an AI-driven platform that synthesizes numerous data streams into a real-time, three-dimensional command and control interface. As we navigate a new era of strategic competition, Anduril is focused on delivering advanced autonomy, artificial intelligence, computer vision, sensor integration, and networking technologies to the military in a fraction of the time traditionally required.

We are looking for a Manufacturing Manager to take charge of the scalability and dependability of our Sensor Chip Array & Integrated Dewar Cooler Assemblies (IDCA) internal imaging production, as well as to establish and expand our network of suppliers and contract manufacturing partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the manufacturing processes for SCA & IDCAs, encompassing both technical and commercial operations.
  • Act as an on-site leader to facilitate the transition and scaling of SCA & IDCA production from engineering to mass production, while continuously promoting operational maturation and ongoing improvements in both classified and unclassified environments.
  • Drive production outcomes and communication through data-driven strategies based on manufacturing performance metrics, including on-time delivery, cycle time, work in progress aging, cost of poor quality, and readiness to build. Regularly report these key performance indicators to executive leadership.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead process engineering and technician teams in a dynamic engineering and manufacturing setting.
  • Generate necessary documentation for successful large-scale hardware manufacturing.
  • Guide staff in effectively managing process improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with internal and customer policies related to safety, change control, training, contamination control, and quality assurance.
  • Ensure performance tracking, documentation, process capability, process control, and product quality align with manufacturing best practices and AS9100 standards.
  • Manage AS9100 requirements to ensure efficient alignment between operational and development teams.
  • Assess, plan, and prioritize both long-term and short-term production and testing optimizations to meet output goals and business objectives.
  • Effectively manage the selection of Contract Manufacturing Partnerships and the establishment of production lines that meet business, operational, and AS9100 criteria.
  • Be present at current and future operations partners to address problems and manage technical and commercial needs.
  • Identify opportunities for vertical integration or diversification of the value stream to enhance production scalability and product development.
  • Proactively manage and communicate opportunities to enhance capacity, throughput, and quality across internal and external value streams.
  • Continuously seek improvement opportunities, evaluate business cases, and make informed decisions regarding production capabilities, quality, scalability, and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 throughout the value stream.
  • Simplify processes through commonality optimization and supplier rationalization.
  • Support program capture efforts and customer interactions regarding IDCA manufacturing concepts and specifications.
  • Willingness to travel 10-25% of the time.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in a technical discipline such as engineering, mathematics, or a hard science.
  • Over 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Operations, including Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Production Management.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience transitioning IDCAs/electromechanical products from New Product Introduction (NPI) to Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP).
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in process engineering and production management of IDCAs in an AS9100 compliant environment.
  • Experience in executive-level reporting and communication for a minimum of 2 years.
  • At least 2 years of project management experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in evaluating supplier and contract manufacturer competencies for over 2 years.
  • 1+ year of experience managing configuration from product ideation to manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to deliver electromechanical hardware creatively in resource-constrained environments.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading PFMEA and RCCA initiatives to prevent nonconformance in mission assurance settings.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams in problem-solving and continuous improvement, focusing on RCCA, Lean practices, and critical thinking methodologies.
  • Possession of an active and transferable U.S. Government issued security clearance is preferred.

The salary range for this position is estimated between $128,000 and $192,000 USD, based on various compensation factors, including experience, education, and critical skills. Anduril offers competitive equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Platinum Healthcare Benefits, covering 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees and 90% for dependents.
