STS Group is a leading supplier of components and systems for the commercial vehicle and automotive industries. The company has recently expanded its operations through the acquisition of the Adler Pelzer Group, a global Tier 1 supplier. We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to support the opening of our new facility in the Roanoke, VA area.

The EHS Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations and company commitments to the safety and health of employees and the environment. This includes developing programs to ensure compliance with applicable EHS regulations, completing required EHS training, and acting as a liaison between third-party auditors, governmental organizations, internal auditors, and management.

The EHS Specialist will also provide direction and coaching to functional engineers in the plant to improve environmental, health, and safety metrics. Duties and requirements of the job include:

  • Leading and implementing EHS improvement projects at the site
  • Identifying regulatory issues and necessary compliance activities
  • Developing and implementing EHS standards within the operating facilities
  • Developing and implementing EHS audit and corrective action processes
  • Coordinating with engineering, operational excellence, purchasing, and operations management to support department initiatives

Salary range is between $65,000 - $85,000 (salary is based on experience and education).
