Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Public Health Specialist to join our team at Marion County. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality home visit services to pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children. This is a full-time position that requires a strong understanding of the needs of the families we serve and a passion for guiding them to achieve their optimal level of health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assure the health and social service needs of a specific population are being met through community outreach, visits to other agencies, and direct contact with allied health provider offices.
  • Assist with case management functions in partnership with a health professional.
  • Provide information and education on health-related issues.
  • Act as an interpreter for clients.
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or GED.
  • Associate degree in social sciences, a health occupation, mental health, or related field, with two (2) years experience in community health, medical, mental health, or alcohol/drug services or other related fields.
  • Fluent bilingual Spanish/English skills are required.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to changing priorities. The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check and a pre-employment drug screen.
