Safety Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a formal safety program that promotes accident prevention and safety awareness.
- Conduct annual risk and ergonomic assessments of all workstations and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Investigate safety incidents and accidents, define corrective actions, and prepare written incident reports.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in safety, security, and ergonomics and drive initiatives for implementation.
- Record information on accidents and incidents in our electronic safety platform and ensure the database is up to date.
- Prepare OSHA reporting, including the annual OSHA log 300, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with the OSHA Representative in investigations and ensure implementation of findings and stipulations.
- File workers' compensation claims and collaborate with HR to provide modified duty assignments for injured workers.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA and internal safety policies and regulations.
Requirements:
- Assertive and able to enforce safety and company policies with all levels of the organization.
- Empathic and active listener with the ability to relate to individuals from different backgrounds and situations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate various situations.
- Manufacturing experience of at least 6 years in various positions, such as supervisory roles, auditing, or maintenance.
- At least 2 years of experience in an OSHA role or other safety position.
