Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Mental Health Specialist provides direct care to patients in a restraint-free environment to promote their recovery. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care to patients in a restraint-free environment
  • Work under the direction of the Nurse Manager to promote patient recovery
  • Provide medical attention to patients requiring care in voluntary and involuntary situations
  • Collaborate with the Registered Nurse to ensure patient safety and well-being

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Within 30 days of hire, requires successful completion of Avade Training
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds
  • Proficiency in using computers and hospital software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an acute care hospital setting or inpatient mental health unit
  • CPR Certification
