Job Summary

VNS Health is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Wound Care Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the wound management program and initiatives for all VNS Health provider services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the monitoring systems used for the evaluation and tracking of the wound management program and initiatives.
  • Plan, manage, and evaluate clinical orientation and ongoing education and training programs for staff for wound and ostomy management programs.
  • Facilitate consistency of dissemination of standardized clinical education policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Manage and deliver wound care specific clinical education programs designed to foster high-quality care by implementing evidence-based practice, performance improvement activities, and professional staff development.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the wound management software application.
  • Identify and communicate protocols and standards of care for a culturally and demographically diverse patient population.
  • Develop policies, standards, and protocols for applying evidence-based practice and evaluate their impact on care management outcomes.
  • Evaluate staff practice patterns on an individual and team level to identify gaps and improve communication skills and clinical practice related to wound care.
Requirements
  • Current License and registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in NYS required.
  • Bachelor's Degree of Science, Science in Nursing, Science in Education, or Science in Business Administration required.
  • Minimum of five years progressive experience in health care required.
  • Conversant in data interpretation and presentation required.
  • Proficient with personal computers, including Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
