Job Summary

VNS Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wound Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare organization, you will be responsible for managing and delivering wound care specific clinical education programs, supporting the day-to-day operations of our wound management software application, and ensuring clinical education programs address patient-centered needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement evidence-based wound care practices into protocols/policies, consultation strategies, staff development plans, continuous quality improvement initiatives, and research.
  • Evaluate clinical outcomes data and analyze practice patterns to promote organizational responses that meet the needs of patients with specific complex and chronic illnesses.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to identify, develop, implement, and evaluate practice improvement plans.
  • Perform written, telephonic, and in-person clinical consultations as needed.
  • Participate in creating and delivering presentations on project status and outcomes to management.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Certified as a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse required.
  • Current License and registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in NYS required.
  • Bachelor's Degree of Science, Science in Nursing, Science in Education or Science in Business Administration required.
  • Master's Degree of Science in Nursing, Science in Education, Science in Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of five years progressive experience in health care required.
  • Conversant in data interpretation and presentation required.
  • Proficient with personal computers, including Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
  • Knowledge of Project Management Applications, and other related databases preferred.
