Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Lead Financial Accountant to manage general accounting operations by overseeing and validating our financial transactions.

The responsibilities of the Lead Financial Accountant include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing month-end closing procedures. A successful candidate will combine strong analytical skills with a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles to interpret financial reports and forecasts. The ideal applicant will also have experience collaborating with accounting colleagues and mentoring junior accountants.

The Lead Financial Accountant will ensure precision and efficiency in all accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all facets of the monthly general accounting close cycle, including performing accruals and conducting analyses
  • Act as the primary contact for all accounting-related inquiries for management
  • Generate all financial reports and statements
  • Engage routinely with other accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll
Task Breakdown:
  • 30% - Production of Final Financial Statements
  • 30% - Reconciliation of bank statements, general ledgers, journal entries, and maintenance of balance sheets
  • 20% - Analysis of preliminary results and inquiries regarding financial statements
  • 10% - Conducting audits
  • 10% - Reporting on usage tax, sales and use tax, and unclaimed property tax
Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics GP, Peachtree/Sage, Solomon, Management Reporter, FRx, and Planful
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including VLOOKUP, SUMIF functions, and Pivot tables
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
