About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team at Mercy. As a key member of our eye care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare examination rooms and check daily patient schedules
  • Escort patients to and from examining rooms and obtain accurate patient history
  • Measure visual acuity, test glare factor, and perform other diagnostic tests as needed
  • Assist with surgical procedures, including setup and preparation
  • Take dictation and maintain accurate records
  • Clean and sterilize exam rooms and equipment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
  • 1+ year of experience in a medical or ophthalmology setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of ophthalmology office procedures and equipment
