About the Chief Technology Officer Role
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for spearheading the design and implementation of innovative technology solutions that align with Feminist's mission. This role involves close collaboration with the Chief Information Officer to evaluate and enhance existing systems and processes.
Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Executive Director
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic guidance to the executive team regarding technology infrastructure, focusing on scalability and organizational growth;
- Oversee the design and development of new technological systems and tools to enhance operational capabilities;
- Implement technology solutions that optimize workflows across the organization, including integration with third-party applications;
- Conduct research and development to identify emerging technologies that can benefit the organization;
- Establish partnerships with technology vendors and industry leaders to foster innovation;
- Assess new technologies for compatibility with existing systems and processes;
- Ensure alignment of technology initiatives with organizational goals;
- Manage technology staff, including hiring, performance evaluations, and professional development;
- Provide hands-on support for ongoing technology projects;
- Evaluate and manage relationships with consultants and vendors to ensure project timelines are met.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in technology architecture, design, and team leadership;
- In-depth knowledge of computer systems, networking, databases, and software development;
- Experience in managing technology procurement processes, including drafting and reviewing proposals;
- Proficiency in programming languages and ability to write and interpret code;
- Strong strategic planning and goal-setting abilities that lead to measurable outcomes;
- Experience in dynamic and complex work environments, both in-person and remote;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment;
- Strong analytical and research capabilities;
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion;
- Capability to estimate and evaluate technical solutions;
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

- Exempt from FLSA classification
