We are seeking an experienced Painter/Loader to join our team at Smith Bros and Wilson BC Ltd. This role is part of our miscellaneous metals division, where you will be responsible for painting, loading, and unloading structural steel and miscellaneous metal components.

Under the direct supervision of the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Painting and loading structural steel and miscellaneous metal components
  • Operating overhead cranes and forklifts to transport materials
  • Setting up and climbing ladders and stairs to work on flatbed trailers
  • Marking or tagging material with proper job numbers and identifying marks

You will also be responsible for analyzing painting specifications, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan painting and loading needs. Additionally, you will be required to operate hand and power tools common to the painting and loading trade.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and reliable transportation. They will also be physically capable of lifting/pushing/pulling 70 pounds unassisted and able to work well with minimal supervision.
