Steel Fabrication Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Painter/Loader to join our team at Shepard Steel, a leading structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication company in Connecticut.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in painting and loading, with the ability to work well under supervision and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Paint and load structural steel and miscellaneous metal components, including columns, beams, channels, and plate.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to transport materials to and from the paint bay and transportation vehicles.
- Set up and climb ladders and stairs to work on flatbed trailers.
- Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Physically capable of lifting/pushing/pulling 70 pounds unassisted.
- Physically capable of bending/twisting as well as standing for long periods of time.
- Able to work well with minimal supervision as well as with other co-workers.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and has a positive attitude.
