About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Winding Assembler to join our team at Siemens Energy in Charlotte, NC, USA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing final finishing of transformer windings, carrying out the assembly of the winding blocks, and ensuring quality compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform final finishing of transformer windings and assembly of winding blocks
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and work plans
  • Validate alignment of windings within required tolerances and perform corrections as needed
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and perform welding when necessary
  • Prepare final winding block for drying and pressing processes
  • Perform measurements and quality inspections for winding blocks, including reviewing tolerances in accordance with technical requirements
  • Support development and maintenance of technical instructions for winding assembly procedures
  • Train and mentor new hires in the department
  • Plan and review tasks to be carried out according to pre-established production plan and manufacturing standards
Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent with relevant technical training/experience
  • Preferably at least 2 years of experience in winding block assembly process for transformers
  • Ability to use math, read and interpret complex drawings, and perform complex measurements
  • Ability to obtain Keys certification test on reading and writing and Blueprint reading test offered by local community college
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Forklift License and a Critical Lift level crane license and certification for working in heights
  • Effective communication and leadership skills to train and mentor new hires
