Position Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in delivering patient-centered, specialized nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians. This position involves a collaborative approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy, ensuring high-quality outcomes that align with ThedaCare's standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Execute delegated tasks utilizing evidence-based practices to assess patients' physical conditions and nursing needs, aiding in the implementation of care plans.

2. Collaborate with the interprofessional team to address patient care needs, ensuring the highest quality of service and clinical outcomes.

3. Exhibit clinical proficiency in the assigned specialty, performing all functions of the LPN in a manner that is age-appropriate and culturally sensitive.

4. Identify opportunities to enhance patient experiences, streamline processes, and reduce costs while promoting quality care.

5. Foster a professional environment that encourages mentorship and development to retain skilled clinicians.

6. Maintain positive relationships with physicians and team members, collaborating to enhance patient care.

7. Proactively manage risks to prevent crises and ensure patient safety.

8. Respond effectively in life-threatening emergencies, aligning resources with demands during critical situations.

Qualifications:

• Valid Wisconsin LPN Licensure

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.

• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other health risks inherent in nursing duties.

Work Environment:

• Frequent exposure to sharp instruments and occasional exposure to hazardous materials.

• Ability to work in high-noise environments and stand for extended periods.

• Transporting patients and equipment safely while adhering to proper procedures.

• Potential exposure to communicable diseases and aggressive patients.
