Job Description

Position Title: Outside Maintenance

Department: Facilities

Employment Classification: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

The Outside Maintenance personnel are responsible for executing routine outdoor upkeep tasks, which encompass watering, raking, mowing, weeding, planting, power washing, litter removal, and snow shoveling as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently arrive at work punctually, ready to fulfill job responsibilities.

Essential Duties:

  • Collect and dispose of litter while performing weeding tasks.
  • Coordinate work schedules in collaboration with other departments and clients.
  • Maintain facilities through regular power washing, ensuring surfaces are prepared and protected as needed.
  • Implement safety measures by setting up traffic control, barriers, and signage.
  • Prioritize personal and customer safety and comfort at all times.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of tools and supplies.
  • Report equipment performance issues and manage inventory of consumables.
  • Assist with minor construction tasks involving equipment and material handling.
  • Document daily work orders and completed tasks.
  • Build rapport with guests through genuine interactions.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve common goals.
  • Maintain courteous and professional relationships with all personnel and the public.
  • Adapt to working under pressure, including irregular hours and weekends.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of six months relevant experience required.

Licensing & Certification:

  • No specific licenses required.

Equipment & Tools:

  • Operate various vehicles and powered equipment, including mowers and power washers.
  • Utilize applicable hand and power tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and lifting regularly.
  • Capability to handle weights ranging from 1 to over 50 lbs as needed.

Mental Demands:

  • Strong organizational and planning skills are essential.
  • Problem-solving abilities and reading comprehension are necessary.

Work Environment:

  • Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
