Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian - Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Sandia Resort & Casino. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our guests and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform custodial duties, including dusting, vacuuming, trash disposal, and cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, windows, mirrors, walls, doors, and carpets.
  • Comply with Facilities Department Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Evacuate the building or assist in emergency evacuation procedures as needed.
  • Move or lift furniture and boxes as required.
  • Clean ceiling fixtures using proper ladder safety procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on custodial equipment and clean equipment as needed.
  • Report equipment repair requirements to supervisor.
  • Dispose of trash and separate recyclables as required.
  • Train new custodial team members as assigned.
  • Perform extensive hard floor stripping, waxing, sealing, finishing, and buffing as needed.
  • Clean interior and exterior windows within assigned facilities.
  • Wash, scrub, and clean walls, doors, and entrances from nests, bugs, birds, and pests.
  • Report for extreme weather post-care to ensure safe conditions in occupied spaces.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Custodial experience preferred.
  • Valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver's License required.
Working Conditions

Duties are performed indoors with some outdoor activity as required. Outdoor duties are subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather. Potential hazards include cleaning solvents and compounds, heights, motorized equipment, and hand tools. Additional potential hazards include exposure to infections, diseases, fumes, odors, dust, mist, and gases.

Duties may involve walking, climbing, crawling, standing for long periods, sitting, crouching, kneeling, running, and assuming prone positions. Work hours are subject to change with overtime work required as approved by management. Projects may require working during closures, including after hours and weekends.
