Position Overview:

Pantheon is in search of a Deputy Project Manager who will directly report to the Senior Project Manager overseeing a significant Navy IT systems modernization initiative. This position entails managing specific project segments and collaborating with workstream leaders and fellow deputy project managers to ensure the effective execution of technology and innovation projects. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in guiding and sustaining government IT/software projects, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and comprehensive knowledge of government deliverables, budgeting, customer expectation management, and project timelines. A successful applicant will also exhibit the ability to communicate clearly, courteously, and effectively with government clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly support the Senior Program Manager in executing the primary task order.
  • Oversee specific project components, ensuring they align with overall program objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to workstream leaders.
  • Formulate detailed project plans that outline scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and supervise project activities to guarantee timely task and milestone completion.
  • Conduct regular status meetings with workstream leaders to monitor progress and resolve issues.
  • Assist the Government in managing and prioritizing daily tasks.
  • Lead contractor personnel assigned to specific tasks.
  • Collaborate with clients to interpret requirements and establish expectations.
  • Engage in formal project management reviews and informal meetings.
  • Implement cost-saving measures and quality controls throughout project execution.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues to ensure timely and scope-compliant project delivery.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, updates, and recommendations to the Senior Project Manager and stakeholders.
  • Assist in defining project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Develop comprehensive plans to monitor and track project progress, preparing documentation such as briefings, point papers, trip reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure and report on project performance utilizing suitable tools and methodologies.
  • Create and maintain thorough project documentation.
  • Delegate project tasks based on the strengths and experiences of junior staff members.
  • Monitor project performance to analyze the successful achievement of both short- and long-term goals.
  • Demonstrate capability in collaborating with senior decision-makers.
  • Encourage a collaborative and productive environment within the project team.
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation within the project team.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 12 years of project management experience, focusing on program delivery aligned with customer requirements, project timelines, and team competencies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, complex projects and teams, including requirements gathering, testing, and risk management.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies and practices.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA).
  • Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification.
  • Experience with the DoD or a military branch is highly desirable.
  • Experience with systems migration to the cloud (e.g., AWS) is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of industry trends and advancements.
  • Understanding of advanced technologies and innovative solutions.
  • AWS (Amazon Web Services) and/or Microsoft Azure knowledge or certification is a plus.
  • Active DoD CAC or Active DoD Clearance.

Clearance Requirements:

U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Work Location

Remote within the United States.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $92,000 - $115,000, subject to adjustment based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
